Turn Back the Clock on Aging with Micro-Needling

Common skin problems in mature adults include enlarged pores, brittle surface texture, and more prominent scarring. Regions of discolored skin become more apparent as we age. Although the body has a tremendous ability to repair age-related skin problems, it often needs a jumpstart. Micro-needling is an effective treatment for a variety of age-related skin problems. It’s a minimally-invasive procedure that stimulates collagen production for better skin tone, promotes the creation and maintaining of healthier skin cells, and minimizes the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

Unlike abrasive resurfacing and peels, micro-needling treats aging skin without the need for tissue ablation. Tiny openings are created, and the body responds to the creation of these in the same manner it would had an unwanted injury occurred. The result of a series of micro-needling treatments is smoother, clearer, and more supple skin.

Why Create Tiny Openings?

Tiny openings quickly fill with blood, lymphatic fluid, and liquid scar tissue. This is the recipe for damage repair. The platelets and nutrients in the blood quickly become the ingredients for the creation of replacement tissue. The problem with aging skin is one of duplication. Without some sort of stimulus for replacement, the skin cells will duplicate themselves exactly, and this is why aging skin continues to look brittle, wrinkled, and discolored.

In addition, the creation of tiny openings actually stimulates the production of additional collagen. This is why the treatment is often referred to as collagen induction therapy.

Consultation and Treatment

We schedule a consultation with our clients in order to examine the facial features. We listen to the client’s concerns and focus on these as we prepare a customized micro-needling treatment series.

There’s no downtime after treatment, and the client doesn’t have to perform any sort of at-home care. Staying out of the sun during the treatment schedule is a good idea, and daily cleansing of the facial skin is recommended.

Long-Lasting Results

About two months after the final treatment, the skin becomes noticeably clearer, and the surface is taut and supple. This is the result of collagen buildup in the skin layers. Scars, freckles, and age spots are less noticeable. Pores are smaller, and this really helps out with the client’s overall appearance.
