Change Your Life with Laser Tubal Ligation

One of the biggest joys in a woman’s life is having a child, but there may come a time when you no longer want to have any more kids. This decision may be made after experiencing an extremely difficult pregnancy or after having completed your family. While there are a number of birth control methods that can prevent pregnancy, they are only a temporary solution. They also come with several other drawbacks. The only way to safely and permanently make sure you can no longer get pregnant is by using laser tubal ligation

What Is Laser Tubal Ligation?

Laser tubal ligation is a surgical procedure that permanently prevents pregnancy by using laser energy to cauterize the fallopian tubes. The heat from the laser will completely close the fallopian tube. This will prevent your eggs from leaving the ovaries. It also ensures that sperm will be unable to reach one of your eggs. Despite the inability to get pregnant, you will still have your regular menstrual period after undergoing this surgical procedure.

What to Expect during the Procedure

The doctor will use a small laparoscopic camera to complete the procedure. He will use a surgical laser to carefully heat and destroy a small section of the fallopian tubes. The laser tubal ligation surgery ends with the incisions getting closed after the surgical tools are removed.

What to Expect after the Procedure

You will be able to go home after spending a few hours in a recovery room following the laser tubal ligation. You will not be able to drive yourself home, so make sure to have a friend or family member at the hospital. You can expect to have some swelling abdominal swelling and a sore throat for a few days after the surgery. It will only take about three days after the laser tubal ligation before you start to feel better. You can return to work at this time.

You will need to avoid having sexual intercourse for at least one week after the laser tubal ligation. You may notice intermittent vaginal bleeding for four weeks after the surgery. This is completely normal. It can also take up to six weeks before you have your first menstrual period. Your cycle will return to normal at this time.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with no longer wanting to have children. It is also too big of a hassle to deal with other birth control methods on a daily basis.
